1st Annual Florida Seafood Festival Cooking Contest

The Board of Directors would like to Announce the 1st annual Florida Seafood Festival Cooking Contest.

"Come show off your cooking skills and be named the best cook in Franklin County. "

The Contest will be for local non-professional cooks using our fresh local seafood. Depending on the response of applicants we will be having a Preliminary round on the 27th of Sept. at the Armory in Apalachicola ,Fl The contest will be judged on Taste and Originality . The Final Round will be held at the Florida Seafood Festival on Oct. 31- Nov. 1, 2008 With prizes and Trophies given to the top three Winners Application can be obtained from our website www.floridaseafoodfestival.com on the application link or you can contact either of the directors for this event Tress Anderson (cookingcontest@floridaseafoodfestival.com) or John Solomon (food@floridaseafoodfestival.com ). Cooking Contest Rules

 

  1. All applicants will apply with an application before the date specified by the committee.
  2. All applicants will provide 5 servings of their dish prior to the start of the contest.
  3. Each applicants dish will be placed in a designated holding container identified to that contestant exclusively.
  4. Each applicant’s dishes and recipes will be kept confidential until the contest begins.
  5. Each applicant will display their particular dish and have them prepared to sample by the designated time. 
  6. Judges will sample each dish/ recipe and determine the winner based on these criteria. Each judge will give each contestant points for their recipe

Taste……………………………. 20 points

Creativity/originality…………….10 points

Presentation…………………..…10 points

Predominance of local seafood… 10 points

First Place

Second Place

Third Place

Most Original Dish
